I am extremely proud to be endorsed by the Berkeley Federation of Teachers, representing 700 teachers and educational professionals serving Berkeley public school students. The Alameda Labor Council, AFL-CIO is a union of unions, uniting workers from manufacturing, education, transportation, healthcare, private and public sector. I’m thrilled to have their endorsement. It’s a personal honor to be endorsed by the Stonewall Democratic Club, founded in 1982 to give voice to the East Bay LGBT community. I've also been endorsed by the Wellstone Democratic Renewal Club, composed of East Bay progressive individuals working together to renew and invigorate the Democratic Party, and by the John George Democratic Club. The East Bay Women's Political Caucus works to increase the number of pro-choice women to elected office. The Berkeley Democratic Club is the oldest and largest Democratic Club in Alameda County.
Our community is represented with distinction at the State level by Senator Loni Hancock and Assemblymember Tony Thurmond, and I’m delighted to have their endorsement. I’ve worked with former Assemblymember Nancy Skinner and am inspired by her years of service and results. I’ve been endorsed by the Mayor and every member of the Berkeley City Council. Over the last four years, I’ve developed strong working relationships with every one of my colleagues on the School Board. I am proud to have their support and I look forward to our continued work together.
